Take that first step to get where you want to be, and take it today.
Think back to a year ago – where were you? Were you doing the same things you are today? Saying you’ll “start” something that you still have yet to start? Or that “next year” you will accomplish a goal or begin working toward it? A year later … have you taken those steps or met your goals?
Life goes incredibly quickly. I, for one, cannot believe it is already March of 2019.
In thinking ahead to various milestones/deadlines I have peppered throughout 2019 (for school and in considering races I want to do), it is easy to start bumping things into 2020 because the calendar fills so quickly.
Think about what you want to do with your life. Think about who you want to be. If you created your daily routine, honed your strengths, improved your weaker areas, and met minor and major life goals – what would your life look like? Does it differ significantly from what your life looks now? If it does – what small steps can you take to merge the reality with the ideal?
Do your habits currently reflect who you want to be?
Don’t put off what you want to accomplish. Take that first step today, no matter how seemingly small it is. There really is no such thing as a small step when it comes to steps bringing you closer to where and who you want to be.
Remember – a year from now, you will wish you had started today.
Never wait for “tomorrow” or “next year” to grab the life you want. Go for it now because you are worth it. It’s your life. Live it how you want. Never play small.
Run on, friends.
